Scholarship Information
Hillside Retirement Community is proud to be an active member of the community. The residents of Hillside volunteer more than 22,000 hours every year to organizations throughout Yamhill County. Employees and residents regularly participate in area fundraisers, including gathering foodstuffs for the local Food Banks.
Since 2002, Hillside Retirement Community has been proud to award two yearly Educational Scholarships to graduating seniors from McMinnville High School. Both the General Scholarship and the Medical Scholarship are given in the amount of $500, to defray the cost of college classes.
The applicants for these scholarships are graded on various criteria. Reviewers look at applicants' GPA with a focus on the grades received for college prep classes; neatness; clarity of expression and how they answered application questions; attendance; and finally, there is preference for any student who has worked here at Hillside.
